SharpenResume uses a limited set of cookies, browser storage, payment technologies, and first-party operational events to operate and protect the service.
1. rs_anonymous_session
Provider: SharpenResume. Purpose: securely associate an anonymous session with uploads and the funnel. Type: strictly necessary, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax cookie. Created when an anonymous session begins. Browser duration: up to 30 days; anonymous uploads without purchase or account are deleted after 24 hours.
2. sharpenresume-locale
Provider: SharpenResume. Purpose: remember English or Spanish. Type: preference cookie. Created or updated when language changes. Duration: 1 year.
3. Locale localStorage
Provider: SharpenResume. Name: sharpenresume-locale. Purpose: preserve interface language. Type: preference storage. Created or updated when language changes and retained until replaced, cleared, or removed by service controls.
4. Authenticated session
Provider: SharpenResume and, when selected, Google OAuth. Purpose: sign-in, Dashboard, security, and revocation. Type: strictly necessary. Created after authentication and retained until expiration, rotation, logout, revocation, or account deletion.
5. Stripe technologies
Provider: Stripe. Purpose: payment controls, transaction authentication, fraud prevention, and payment processing. Type: strictly necessary payment and security technologies. Created when Stripe loads or is used; duration varies under Stripe’s current requirements.
6. First-party operational events
Provider: SharpenResume. Purpose: operate the funnel, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and maintain integrity. Type: operational, not advertising. Created when relevant events occur. Identifiable records: 30 days, unless a security or fraud record uses the separate 24-month period.
7. Technologies not active and controls
Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, remarketing, and advertising cookies are not listed as active. Before activating nonessential analytics or advertising, we will update the inventory, disclosures, and required consent or opt-out. You can clear browser storage, though blocking essential technologies may prevent core functions.
